This is the EH Holden Car Club of New South Wales Club Constitution for Vintage Renewal. 1. The Club is open to persons owning or restoring EJ or EH Holden’s. 2. Vintage Registration is specifically for UNMODIFIED and ORIGINAL EJ and EH Holden’s. 3. In order for a Club member’s vehicle to be displayed or to represent the CLUB officially, it must comply exactly with the following Club regulations, and will be inspected annually and a date to be set.
4. Externally, the car must be FULLY painted in a style exactly like or reasonably like, factory paint. It must be painted in a genuine factory original pain colour with is appropriate to the model eg. Specials are not to be painted in metallic Premier colours or vice versa. Paint type, 2 pack enamel, or whatever is acceptable, so long as it retains the original LOOK of the car. The vehicle should be free from large rust spots or patches of undercoat or primer.
5. All original chrome or stainless trim must be in tact or in good condition.
6. All external accessories should be either genuine NASCO or other brands, so long as the accessory is sympathetic to the original 1960’s look of the vehicle eg: Cyplas weather shields, sun-visors, various driving lights and mirrors and so on.
7. Wheels – when the vehicle is being displayed officially for the Club, it is required that it is displayed with original wheels and cross-ply tyre 6.40 or 6.50 x 13” or appropriate radials no wider than 185 x 70 or 75 series. Premier’s should be displayed with appropriate wheel trims or other approved dress rims. Vehicles will always retain their original hub caps or be fitted with genuine NASCO accessory hubcaps eg: Fiestas.
8. Interior – presentation of vehicle interior, including the luggage or cargo areas (boot or back of wagon) should be of an extremely high standard. Seat upholstery should be clean and totally free from rips, tears, sun splits and so on. The rubber floor coverings for Standard and Specials is virtually impossible to replace at the moment, therefore appropriately coloured, neatly fitting carpet is acceptable. Visually the vehicle interior should retain an exact factory appearance with standard Steering Wheels, Gear Shift, Original type or not radio and original seating configuration, bench or bucket seats in a Premier. Hood lining should be original factory material similar material.
9. Engines – EJ engines shall be 138 cubic inch grey motors. EH engines shall be 149 cubic inch or 179 cubic inch red motors only as per factory specifications and retain all other engine ancillaries. Original generators or correct type alternators are acceptable. Engine bay paint should be in dark grey or black, but not body cover.
10. Gearbox and transmissions should remain Hydromatic automatic or 3 speed non-synchro original type crash manual gear box, or tri-matic, or powerglide to replace hydromatic. All must retain the original gear shift.
11. Differential should be original factory type and retain an appropriate factory ratio.
12. Brakes – should be of a type appropriate to a 1960’s vehicle, either original drums – boosted or not. It is acceptable to fit a HR Holden type Disc Brake Front End if necessary.
13. Suspension – vehicles should retain a standard type suspension system.
14. Exhaust – should be of appropriate size and retain a standard exhaust “note”.
15. Accessories = should either be genuine NASCO or other brands originally marketed and specifically intended for use on EJ’s or EH’s during the 1960’s eg. Cyplas, Canopy Industries or Challenge Canopies.
16. The final decision as to whether a vehicle is appropriate to be displayed at official events will always be left to the discretion of the Club Committee and will be voted democratically by all Committee Members. All decisions are final and should not be discussed further after a decision has been made.
17. Members must be fully financial for at least 6 months with a minimum of 3 Club Runs within that period to obtain Vintage Plates.
18. Breach of the above regulations will result in redemption of Vintage Plates and DISMISSAL from the Club or at the discretion of the Committee.
19. Plates and name bars must be displayed at all times.
20. At the time of annual inspection all members participating in the Club Plates scheme must show proof of full comprehensive motor vehicle insurance as a condition of renewal. |
